Discussion Groups

Mini or full discussion groups are still a highly effective method for gathering qualitative data.

• Very specific samples may be pre-recruited

• The "group dynamic" benefits the collective development of ideas (i.e. if someone says something, others may build on and enhance it.)

With games we have discovered that smaller groups of four to six are more effective. We also have a "total immersion" research design where the same groups play the same game over multiple evenings.
